You’ll find everyone on our island friendly, welcoming and more than willing to extend a helping hand.
We are well-educated. In fact, our literacy rate is 97%. We work in many industries, from medicine to merchandising, fishing to flying. But we also love to have fun. So, don’t be a stranger. Stop and chat, and you’ll have fun, too.
Most of us speak English. Or Bajan, which can be a little hard to understand at first. It’s a mixture of English, Creole and West Indian idioms. So if someone invites you to “do a Dixie” at a “dooflicky”, don’t be “cafuffled” or confused. You’re simply being asked to dance at a celebration of some kind!
