In town - One of our visitors from the U.K., described our island as “one of the few places in the world where a single woman can wander around feeling perfectly safe.” But it’s important to take the usual precautions. Make sure your valuables and travel documents are securely protected, and your doors and windows are locked,
especially
at night.
At the beach – Don’t touch those spiny, black sea urchins and jellyfish. Look out for the notorious machineel trees. Be sure not to touch their leaves and little, green, apple-like fruit – they can both cause serious medical problems. They usually have Warning signs posted around them. But watch your children, anyway.
